Venture Capital Set up in New Zealand
Economic Overview
•New Zealand has a very export-driven competitive economy with exports accounting for about 30% of GDP
•They have low-inflation environment, with monetary policy managed by the Reserve Bank, independent central bank that is charged with maintaining price stability.
•They also have a long-standing flexible exchange rate. There are no exchange controls or restrictions on bringing in or repatriating funds.
Recent performance of overall economy
Growth for 2015 is expected 3%, supported by net migration flows, labour income growth, and construction activity. It is expected to fall back for 2016 and 2017, largely due to deteriorating terms of trade, particularly for our dairy exports.From2018, growth is forecast to pick up again.
Association Introdution:
NZVCA is a not-for-profit industry to develop the venture capital and private equity industry in New Zealand.
Objectives :
1. Promotion of the industry
2. The asset class on both a domestic and international basis and to develop a world-best venture capital
3. Private equity environment for the benefit of investors and entrepreneurs in New Zealand.
Activities cover the spectrum of investment in New Zealand private capital including Angel investment, seed and early-stage venture capital through to development capital and private equity (including management buy-outs and buy-ins).
By joining NZVCA, the member will:
•be represented with a single voice to government and regulators;
•receive preferential pricing at all NZVCA networking events in New Zealand;

•be able to attend members only events such as training programs and round table groups;
